Stella's new Layout

I was so lucky to be part of Stella's arrival into this world.  I can't tell you how much that little girl fills my heart with joy and love.

This is Prima paper from the Something Blue line.  I have some Prima embellishments mixed in with all those flowers too..... I got them all at The Scrapping Nook.  Janice has a great selection of all things Prima.  I think I might just go and pick up a few more things for my next layout :)

My favourite time of the month

The beginning of the month is my favourite time of the month..... and no, this is no April fools joke.  Tim Holtz has his new tag posted and I wanted to show you my version of it.... I love the vintage grungy feel of it.

Let the Stella layouts begin!

I can't believe Stella is a month old already.  wow!!  I am happy to say that I have been down there already a number of times. It makes me so sad that she is almost 2 hours away.  It is certainly do-able but I have to plan it.  Thank goodness I have chunks of time off so that I can get down to see her.  For today I have to make do with pictures of her

Amazingly wonderful news

Since I last posted (which feels like forever now) we have had the most wonderful thing happen in our world.  Stella Violet (our first grandchild) was born.   I was able to be there for my daughter and coach her through the last few hours of her labour and birth.  I have been a labour and delivery nurse for 25 years and no birth that I have been apart of was as special as that ......except maybe my own 2 births :). I am so thankful to have been able to share in that experience with Jessica and Paul.  Stella weighed 8lb 13oz. (just 1 oz less than her mom weighed)

and in honour of Stella's arrival, I made my February Tim Holtz tag for her

Excuse me while I go and get ready, I have a date today with my most favourite little girl.

January Tim tag

there is no one on this earth that can inspire a lover of all things grungy to start creating like the incredible Mr Tim Holtz.  I loved the inspiration that his January 2014 tag provided.  I didn't have all of the products that he used so I got to dive into the stash and see what worked for me.  I love this process.  I didn't have the sticky backed foil so I used silver paper and glued it to cardboard I had in my recycle box. I didn't have his rub ons, distress stain, charms or stamp but I kind of really like what I came up with.   I can't wait for February 1 for the next tag inspiration.

Some of my work over the last 6 months

I have been away a long time and I thought I would post some of the creative work I have done.

My creative take on Tim's October tag

Holy cow it's been a long time since I have posted anything on my blog.  lots has happened in the last 6 months.  My beautiful daughter is pregnant with our first grandchild. It just happens that God has blessed us with a little granddaughter who's name will be Stella.  She is due the 16th of January. We couldn't be happier!!!

I've also had thumb/wrist surgery.  as I type I am in a cast.  4 weeks done and 1 more to go!!!  even though it's a pretty pink cast, I am ready to move on to physio and working hard to get it back to a state that is pain free.  I hear the total recovery time can take a year.

The cast hasn't stopped me from scrapping though.  I was inspired by Tim Holtz' Oct tag of the month to get out the distress glitter.  -I mean really, a cast couldn't keep me away from working with glitter right?  I didn't have the dies he used for his tag, so I glittered up this flower.  It's hard to see just how pretty the glitter made the flower because the light isn't the greatest right now but I'm sure you get the idea.  I used Tim Holtz' simple sayings stamps at the bottom.  I stamped it using distress paint and I really like the effect
